Project

New Dream is a number of websites and digital solutions for hardware distribution. The biggest complexity is hidden in the internal admin panel, which helps to manage several hardware warehouses and different kits that can be built using the available hardware pieces.

Challenge

Outdated procedures, database level, and code practices wouldn't allow the system to scale and needed significant refactoring. Migration from older technologies was part of the system upgrade. But also implementation of the new projects empowered by AI and decision-making algorithms for the best advertisement placement.

Solution

We needed a new way to work with the database, the way that multiple teams could maintain the same database with the Database as Code approach. We also needed to update the API level code to make sure that multiple different projects have an ability to reuse the same pieces of the code.

Results

The database was optimized and refactored to handle the load. Security and disaster recovery policies are implemented. A separate read-only replica is leveraged for data analysis by the company's data analytics and decision-making algorithms. Code has been migrated to modern API solutions, and the websites have been optimized for the best SEO results.
